Veterinarians

  • Lynn Fenwick , DVM


    Although born in Cherry Point, NC; Dr. Fenwick grew up in Leonardtown.  She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1979 and then attended Virginia Tech where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology.  After just three years of undergraduate study, she was accepted to the Virginia –Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  She received her D.V.M. degree in 1986.

    Upon graduation, she married and worked in Roanoke, VA for a year while her husband finished his certification in medical technology.  After that they moved to Beckley, WV where she worked for a year in a mixed animal practice before returning and making their home in St. Mary’s County.  She worked as an associate veterinarian at St. Mary’s Veterinary Hospital for two years before launching out on her own and opening Breton Veterinary Hospital in 1990.

    In addition to preventive care, Dr. Fenwick’s personal practice interests include internal medicine, dentistry and senior care.  She is an active member of her church and enjoys spending quality family time with her husband Tim, and two daughters, Kristin and Erin.  Outside of her busy family and practice, Dr. Fenwick tries to find time to enjoy her passions of reading, water skiing, snow skiing, horseback riding and playing basketball.

Technician Staff

  • Gabrielle Otis , RVT


    Gabrielle is a Registered Veterinary Technician that joined our team in May of 2010 from a practice in Chesapeake, Va. She has moved up and down the east coast from Tampa, Florida to Leonardtown, Maryland and everywhere in between.

    Gabrielle received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College in 2007 and was immediately offered a position in the University of Florida's small animal Intensive Care Unit. Currently her passions include critical care nursing, surgical nursing, and geriatric care. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Technology.

    Her free time is spent with Tango and Snipe, her two cats and her husband. Soon she will be raising a different kind of "little monster" she and her husband are expecting their first child the first of September.

  • Megan Sherman


    Megan grew up in a small town in Indiana where she lived with her family on a farm.  She began taking care of animals at a young age.  It quickly grew into a passion, whether it was bottle raising a lamb or nursing a 3 legged kitten back to health.

    Megan attended International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN where she earned her associate degree in Veterinary Technology.  Upon graduation she was offered a position and started working in a local clinic. After working in her hometown for 2 years, Megan moved to Maryland.

    When not working, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and is on the beach as much as possible.  Megan also likes to spend time playing with her 3 legged cat, Pete, and 2 Great Danes, Deus and Indy.

    Dorinda Hughes is a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County.  She worked for the federal government until becoming a stay-at-home mom, raising her four children, Adam, Brendan, Marlena and Sarah on a farm in Leonardtown. A true caretaker at heart, she established a service to support birthing mothers and their families in the local community.

    Upon reentering the workforce in 2005, Dorinda wished to follow her love of all creatures big and small and began working in the veterinary field as a Customer Service Representative at a busy 24/7 Emergency Animal Hospital.  Realizing this to be a calling as well as career, she progressed into administrative management.

    Dorinda has been involved in rescue work for both Parrots and Bull Terriers.  She spends her free time with family, her dog Harley, cats Tempest and Ruby and her parrots Calypso and Mr. Pickles.  You will also hear her singing as she once again pursues her dream of performing music.


Kennel Staff

  • Kim Elliott


    Kim graduated from CSM's Veterinary Assistant program and is looking foward to meeting you and your pet.

    Kim was raised in Minnesota on a farm with many different types of animals, all if which she fell in love with. While in the military was stationed in Patuxent River and decided to stay. She has been working the the food industry for almost 20 years and has decided to go back to her roots and work with animals.

    When not working she spends her time taking care of her 3 cats, Sylvester, Lucky, and Jelly as well as her 2 dogs, Tater and Takota both Lab mixes. She also has a blast caring for Chester Bird the Cockatoo.
